2005 was a great year! It was way better than 2004 and got progressively better as it went along…
~It started off with my taking my first classes at S Factor, which has obviously become a very large part of my life over the past year. I fell in love with the movement, with the women I work with and with the empowering feeling I get every time I fly around or hang from a pole.
~It was also a year for trips and excursions to many exotic locations…
First I took a fantastic trip to France to ski with my family. Vast mountain ranges, luscious snow, amazing food and good company!
Later I went to Puerto Vallarta, also with my family, but this time with my brother, sis-in-law and sweet nephew along for some sun soaking. It was my first real vacation with my big brother and I hope to do it again this year!
As if that wasn’t enough, I then went on a cruise to Alaska with my parents, grandma, aunt and uncle. What an interesting state to explore and a fun-filled way to travel. Lots of dancing and singing made it quite a memorable experience.
Then, my final trip of the year ~ I went to Kuai, Hawaii for a week to help celebrate a friend’s wedding! Old friends, new friends, beaches, surf lessons, kayaking, a beautiful ceremony and a rockin’ reception party…I’d say it was a good year for travel!!
~It was also a good year for work…
After burning out at the Spa I was working at and becoming tired of holding 2 jobs, I quit the Spa and went full-time as a receptionist at S Factor. I gained more and more responsibility and have finally left reception for an “upstairs job”, with my very own desk and computer…the first time in my life that I didn’t become nauseous by the idea of sitting behind a desk.
Of course, I also went through the teacher training program and became a teacher of the S Factor movement in just 4 months. I love to teach, I love my students and I am relieved to say I love my job!
~And, the best thing is that I’ve started to actually enjoy living in Los Angeles…
I’ve made some darn good friends and have been happily settled in my apartment for over a year now (a record!).
I’d say I’ve come a long way since last year!
As I ponder 2006 and what I’d like to accomplish, come to peace with and grow toward, I am happy to be in such a positive place to start off the year with.
In 2006 I’d like to:
*start taking acting classes again
*act in a play
*purchase myself a car
*save more of my paycheck each month
*floss more often
*cook at home a lot more often
*start a healthy eating regimen
*convince my brother to come visit me in LA for a couple of days even though he hates it here
*go up to San Francisco for a visit and perhaps guest teach at the SF studio
*re-learn to knit
*finish the first draft of my book
*let go of unheathly ideas and unwarranted fears
and…
*fall hopelessly in love (just to remember what it feels like)
I wish that all the things you want for 2006 come true. And I hope to see you more often. Gma
