Here is Jack at 46 weeks old…
(December 13, 2012)

This week’s photo shoot was a disaster. Not because Jack was upset, or tired, but because my camera has suddenly lost it’s focus and Jack would not sit still for 2 seconds. The only way I got the photo above was because of his dog lovey. The focus on my camera, which used to blink in the viewfinder, never came back, so all the photos I took were slightly blurry. Em? Any ideas?
Even with Grandpa Jack’s help, the shoot was really just a fail. Ha…

After we gave up, Jack went into the living room and sat still next to the tree, of course…

Other than photo shoots, this has been an amazing week for Jack! He turned a corner with food and will now eat most anything and everything we put in front of him. He suddenly adores pouches and will often eat a whole one in a sitting. He also loves bagels & cream cheese, scrambled eggs, cous cous salad & chicken. It’s awesome! We are so happy. And frankly, Jack seems happy about it too.
Here he is getting tired after a delicious meal…

Jack is still playing with sounds and does his best to repeat what we say. The newest development is “dack” for Jack. Pretty cool to say his own name. We clap.
For many weeks, Jack and I have attended a Mommy & Me group down the street. This Thursday we closed class for the year with a potluck party and a visit from Santa. Look how much Jack liked it…

Poor kid. I thought he might be okay with it because we have two Santa decorations in our house. One of them sits in eye view of his high chair and every morning he points at it and I say Ho Ho Ho and he says Huh Huh and we laugh. But when the real Santa appeared it was more Ho Ho NO.
Luckily his stress didn’t last too long and he calmed down for the group photo…

He also ended up having a very fun time at the party…

In that last photo, Jack plays with Lucky. They share a birthday!
Unfortunately Jack and I will not be attending this group anymore because next week I am going to be going to work 4 days/week, Monday-Thursday. I’ve signed us up for a Friday music class to start in the new year, which I think we will love!
Jack will now be going to his daycare Monday-Thursday also. My mom and Jack will miss spending their Wednesdays together and I will miss him on Thursdays, but it makes sense for our family at this time. My mom will pick Jack up early on Wednesdays since I work late, so they’ll still get their weekly love fest, which is great.
I don’t want to jinx it, but we think that Jack’s new bottomless appetite might be leading to a huge development in the sleep department. I will report back about this next week.
For this week’s last image, here is a picture of Jack and me together at the potluck party…

I suppose it’s really more a photo of me and neither of us is looking, but something about the photo just makes me happy. And now I’m all caught up on blogging. Yay!

Cutie patootie as always. I have to remind myself that our children and their fear of the big red bearded stranger is really quite good judgement on their part… what a BRILLIANT child you have! And on other news, your hair looks BEAUTIFUL. You may have motivated me to go a little darker… xxoo
Seriously – your hair is so shiny. I want to gaze at it, transfixed.
Also – your son it the bomb. Especially if he starts to sleep and eat like a champion!
I love that Jack is doing a Johnny impression in these photos! That will be a treasured memory when they are both pledging Sigma Chi at Willamette…
He is just so darn cute! Sending lots of good vibes for the work/daycare/etc transition. And I hope you were right about developments in the sleep department. xoxo. Oh, I don’t think I commented the post, but Jack’s nursery is adorable and perfect!!!
dack is simply shorthand for granDpa jACK
