in chicago with mama

My Mom came to visit me in Chicago this weekend because she knew I was feeling a little blue and lonely…how cool is she?

We played together and had some really great time to catch up and do girl stuff!

The first night we dressed ourselves up, took ourselves out to dinner and then to see Wicked, the musical, which is based on Wicked, the book.

I first saw this show with the original Broadway cast during it’s pre-Broadway run in San Francisco. I loved it then and I loved it again. It was fun to see it with my Mom, who had not seen it before and loved it just as much as I did. It was kind of the perfect Mother-Daughter night out.

The next day, my Mom went to work with me and took the Intro class. Then we went walking. We walked all around the downtown area before we took ourselves to the movies. We picked Bella, a unique love story that got very mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but which we enjoyed very much for it’s simplicity and sweetness. And it wasn’t too long, as so many movies are these days. A nice, uplifting, thoughtful movie.

And then today, Mama had to go home. Sigh. I can’t wait to see her again for Thanksgiving…and I really can’t wait to eat stuffing.

And now only 4 more days left in my business trip to Chicago. I am anxious to get home to my lonely pussycat and my cute RJ.
