Here’s how I looked this morning, before my Hair Show appointment:
And here’s how I look now…let’s just say I’m in a huge state of shock!
(This is a good angle…)
I don’t think I even look like the same person. What do you think?

Whoa baby. Who is this chick. I love how you can transform into a new persona.
Holy smokes! You are smokin’! I really like the color… sultry and wintery… what is the back of the cut like? Is it short, and then it angles downward in the front?! I can’t wait to see you live and in person at Boehm’s wedding!
Oooooh, Kirsten ~ I’m glad you like it. I think I look like the singer of a punk rock band or something. Or, even worse, Ashlee Simpson when her first pop record came out.
Yes, the back is somewhat shorter. It’s really wispy and not very even (on purpose, for “edge”). I wasn’t really prepared for such a “style”. I can’t style it today ~ it just sticks out everywhere. Ha ha!
By the time you see me at the wedding in February, it might have already been lightened a bit…and hopefully the bangs will have grown longer.
Thanks for the compliment! I needed it…
WOW!!! Very Hip!! I am a bit intimidated, girl!! I…WOW!!!
Wow Ali! Remember when Boehm and I did the hairshow and Boehm was casted as the “unisex” hairdo along with a homeless guy, and I had the “blonde-on-blonde” and ended up with bleached EYEBROWS! You made out great! But if you’re anything like me… those “2 free cuts and colors” went by fast! See you next month… if I recognize you! -E
I’m your brother, so what do I know?
congratulations on your brave, new look!
wow, ali, it’s HOT! i’m the same way as you are – i never get a style, always just a trim. i know it must be a shock, but it looks fantastic.
holy cow! it’s great! Everyone in my office loves it too…I wonder how it is going to look whishing around a pole?
An East Coast-er’s opinion, if you are interested:
The hairdo in your formal head shot is the most complimentary, with the “before” picture my second favorite.
About ten years ago I went to a new hairdresser, liked her slightly asymmetrical cut, and asked for something similar. Big mistake..I ended up with the shortest of short hair on one side and long hair on the other. My boss’s question said it all, “Did you get bubblegum in your hair?”
Thank you all for your comments! I have pictures from the actual show which I will share and post soon…
I am getting used to the new color and am starting to really like it. It makes my eyes really pop! I am waiting for the bangs to grown a bit, but I like the ‘mystery’ that the cut gives me.
