4 days in NYC

This morning I am off to NYC where I will…

Do some work.
Stay with my cousin and her family in their new home. {what generous hospitality!}
Hopefully see my friends.
Perhaps catch a show? {fingers crossed, but not likely}

I am feeling better. Thank you for the thoughts and emails of concern.

bang, and you’re dead inside

This week has challenged me in many ways.
I learned a lot this week.
It was a tough week

This week sucked.
It was also {insert word that starts with F and rhymes with sucked here}

I can’t get into it without upsetting myself all over again and I’d like to have a nice weekend before I have to open the wound up again on Monday in NY.

The real news is that I am no longer traveling to NY for 4 out of the next 8 weeks, only 4 days, but this is the silver lining in an otherwise crappity crap situation that I was mixed up in unwittingly. It sucks to be the messenger, because sometimes the messenger gets shot.

home is sweet

I am so happy to be home. I spent yesterday cleaning the house (ok, I only got to the bathroom and the kitchen, but it was enough to feel better). I also got all the files from my dinosaur laptop transferred over to the new laptop that R got me for my birthday. Finally, it doesn’t take 15 minutes for my computer to turn on and my another 5 to open an application. And the sound – well, it rocks. Thank you to my rad guy who intuited that I would never, ever buy myself a new laptop.

I have just five days now until I jump back on a plane to New York City. I will be there for 2 weeks to begin yet another training session…

At least in New York they have good theatre for me to discover and I know enough people to have a little social life!

to cook

When I was visiting with my brother recently he complained that I don’t write enough here and then he gets tired of coming to the page and seeing the same thing over and over, so he stops coming. Meaning = I lose readers for not posting.

So, he told me that even when I am busy, or don’t feel interesting enough to share, to just take a picture and write one line about how I’m feeling. So don’t be surprised when this happens more often than not. (Wait, isn’t that what facebook it for?)

cover and let cook for a few more momentsWell, tonight I cooked R’s recipe for myself; my first time making it all by myself (I’m a big girl now).

Here is the recipe. It’s better when he makes it, just because he made it for me, but my version was pretty darn close. Try it! Even if you don’t like tofu (neither do I), you’ll enjoy this dish.

Click here to see the recipe for General Tsao’s Tofu & Broccoli in pictures.

And I’m feeling fine, thank you.
