a new path

I am very happy and proud to say that I now work for lululemon athletica!

I’ve been researching this company for quite some time and will be joining them for the holidays…and hopefully beyond. I am excited about this opportunity because I believe it will be a good first step toward my future goals. The first thing that drew me to the company was their manifesto, which they print on their bags. Enjoy it below…

dirty martini, with vodka

Here I am as a Dirty Martini…

dirty martini

By this time my olives were starting to slip, but you get the idea. And R, well, he waited until the last minute to think of a costume, so he became the vodka in my martini. By himself, he looked as if he was half-assing it, but together, we looked so cute and clever.

And here I am with Tiffany and Rie…

I had to teach until 10pm, so by the time I got out I faded very quickly. Next year, remind me to refuse to sub someone’s class on Halloween night. I have now done that duty…
Boo!

happy halloween

First, this picture tickles me…

~~~
For the past several years (ok, like ten) I have used the same costume over and over, mostly because it’s fun ~ I mean who doesn’t like an excuse to spend the evening on roller skates? But also because I couldn’t think of anything I liked better. And Roller Girl elicits such a positive response. This year, however, I am trying something new! (Even though I’d really like to go back to the old faithful with my short shorts, my trusty roller skates and my new Obama t-shirt, I am going to *try* and resist).
My costume is mostly ready, although I am having a hard time attaching my homemade headpiece onto my head and into my hair without it slowly slipping off, but I trust that by this evening, everything will work out just deliciously.
Here’s a hint to what I am dressing up as for Halloween…
Tell me ~ what’s your costume?
Let your inner child come out to play and have a fabulous good time playing dress up!
visit to san francisco and other things
Last weekend I went to San Francisco, which always makes me happy. I was there for work primarily, but RJ decided to surprise me by driving up with some of his friends to hang out with me. It was short, but sweet…
yum yum during fleet week
~
We walked up the steepest part of Fillmore St and looked back over the Bay where fleet week was in full force. We also ate at the yum yum yum restaurant called Cha Cha Cha. Delicious and rich…
While I was gone, the mold was being removed from my home. It was crazy chaos when I returned, but I have since been able to turn it into organized chaos that makes my home livable. The best story about this is how Marceau reacts when I disappear behind the zippered, plastic encasement. He gets as close as he can and mews loudly with worry over my disappearance into the abyss until I reappear and tell him I am fine. It’s the cutest gesture of concern…
If you’re really curious, you can see the full chaos in photos right here.
I am looking forward to this weekend and having no set plans. Happy Friday!
