i wanna tell you, but I really can’t

So, I’ve been teaching a very VIP some S classes…

And I mean, I’ve taught a couple of other quite famous celebrities once or twice, but this is seriously a person I have admired for quite awhile. It still amazes me when I walk in and there she sits waiting for me. For me! Ha ha.

Then today, I introduced her to Sheila who offered to teach her if she wanted, but when Sheila left the room, my student turned to me and said, “No, I’m having my private tomorrow with you, right?” Damn! And I assured her yes, I would be teaching her tomorrow. (we’ve been meeting everyday…)

And I know it’s torturous to put this out there and then not tell you who the heck I’m talking about (especially for Liz), but then I’d lose my job and I wouldn’t get to teach anybody anymore. And you wouldn’t want that, would you?

But this way, you can wonder and wonder. And you might be right. And you might be wrong. But it’s fun to guess, huh?

Goldfish

The play I directed is called Goldfish and it opens tonight as part of Alliance Repertory’s 10-minute play festival Anniversary: A Celebration of 20 Years!

I had so much fun working with my fish. How cute are they?

cooling off

It’s hot. And it doesn’t seem to just be hot in the places where it would normally be uncomfortably hot at this time of year. It’s hot everywhere. And it is especially hot in Los Angeles for this time of year…

Today in the Eastern part of Hollywood it was 104 degrees, which is where I ventured to buy myself an air conditioning unit for my window. Inside Home Depot, people literally swarmed around the air conditioners and fans. I purchased a unit, jumped in my car and drove home to my very hot apartment.

Luckily because it’s closer to the beach, Santa Monica stays cooler than Hollywood, but because I live on the second of two floors, all the heat rises into my apartment. My apartment is always a good 10 degrees warmer that the air outside.

I decided not to wait for any help with the installation of my window unit (oh no!), so as you can imagine, fun times with tools ensued!

Perhaps these next several pictures will illustrate the whole story better than I can with words…

First…
box close-up tools

then…
they fell on my head actually
which fell on my head on the way down…

and so…
in tears

but then…
amused at the whole situation

and so…
icing my head

and finally…
all installed

Though it was a bit of a saga, the air conditioner is my new best friend.

empty and full

For the past month…or so (ok, maybe 3 months? ~ shut up!), my refridgerator has been practically empty. Finally, I got my ass to the grocery store and filled it up! Here’s the before and after…

Upon looking over my budget, I was appalled to see how much money I’ve been spending on dining out for lunch and dinner, so I’m making a new effort to make my lunch everyday and cook dinner at home. It’s truly ridiculous that it’s gone on so long now, ’cause really, I’m quite capable in the kitchen.

So far (today) I’ve been good. I set my alarm 15 minutes earlier and resisted hitting snooze 3 times, which actually got me out of bed 30 minutes ahead of time. I prepped my lunch and did the dishes, made some breakfast ~ which will help me save $3.10 from the Starbuck’s vacuum, and I’m still ahead of schedule.

I think I like this new routine. Maybe I can actually style my hair, too.

What A Pair!

Last Thursday I got to model at a Charity event called ”What A Pair” at The Standard Hotel in Hollwood. S Factor was a sponser and so some of the teachers got to model the bra and panties that were for sale to benefit the organization, which raises money for Breast Cancer. We had our hair and make-up done and got to wear two jackets over the underwear. The first was an original design by a new designer (pictured with us here)…

Then, we changed into the most beautiful, soft, fur coats (yes, fur, I know, I know ~ don’t shoot the model). Here we are with Sheila Kelley, Founder and CEO of S Factor…(I’m in pink)

They were a knitted fur, which made them very comfortable and soft on the inside and out. People were asking to pet my arm all night as I wandered through the party showing off the underwear underneath. It was very tasteful. Pictured here with my friend, Sujata and then wandering around the party…

It was great fun and from what I heard, the event was successful, raising a lot of money and generating buzz about the What a Pair organization!
