Last Tuesday I went to the Santa Monica Pier for a flying trapeze lesson with the gals from lululemon. It was unbelievably fun and I am dying to go back. Their motto is ‘Forget about the fear, worry about the addiction’ and it’s so true!
Here is my first go…
May has always been one of my favorite months. Not only does it hold my birthday and that’s cool, but I just love the way it sounds. It’s May! Cool.
This May was filled with eventful fun. And here are the photos to prove it…
My friend Neil had a birthday mid-month and we went to a roof-top bbq to celebrate. Only a few photos made it to print…
Here is the birthday boy barbecuing with Jed and the cupcakes we enjoyed:
And from the same evening, the 3 faces of R…
Another exciting event was that my hallway was finally completed and my house is now back to normal after a full 8 and 1/2 months of construction and disarray after the water and mold issue. This was most exciting and relieving…
Then, RJ ran the LA marathon and beat last year’s time by 27 minutes coming in at 3:30:55. His training partners, Neil, Ari & Scott, also did well and I was just as proud this year as I was last year…
Because several of my friends ran the marathon this year, we went out with everyone that evening for dinner where, of course, the guys decided to celebrate with a shot of Patron…
The next day was my birthday! I taught a couple of classes and R took me to dinner at Big Wangs ~ oh yes…I’m a classy broad. Then, the Sunday following my birthday he threw me a party in the park, which was just perfect.
We started the day with a picnic with friends and family…
The picnic was full of cuteness: puppies and babies and kids…
After the picnic, R, Ari & I went for our horseback ride, which was fantastic! There were beautiful views of the surrounding areas, we stopped halfway for some Mexican food and the night ride home was so peaceful…
Here we are at the doorway to Viva Fresh…
You know how a lot of people these days raise money for charity by getting sponsored to train for and run marathons? Well, they do ~ and it’s popular here in LA. Well, I don’t run marathons, I do yoga…
So, my way of contributing to my community is by participating in a Yogathon!
On June 27th, I will be doing yoga for 24 hours. Yes, seriously. And before you poo poo this idea as easy, you should know that yoga is much more than just stretching and breathing. Yoga actually means “union” and is about finding the perfect balance between strength and flexibility. So, this 24 hour practice will be challenging to say the least, but I expect and hope to learn a great deal about myself & yoga. {And did you know that my next venture is to go through yoga teacher training?}
Now, I know we’re all tightening our budgets, but of course, I need sponsorship. As a group, the other yogis and I hope to raise $100,000 for Habitat for Humaity~Los Angeles. My personal goal is to raise $2000 and be the yogi who raises the most for our cause! If we, as a group, reach our total goal, we will contribute a complete house that will be called “The House that City Yoga Built” ~ how cool is that?

I promise, if you donate, to share photos & stories of my experience! And if you don’t donate, I promise we’re still friends!
Thank you in advance for your support.
Namaste.

Last weekend I ate the best slice of pizza I’ve ever had. It was *salad pizza* in Venice…talk about delicious. Seriously. Pizza Crust, Feta, Mixed Greens, Avocado & Dressing. I now crave this all the time!
You will notice that we were not hooked to the ropes, which are customary for beginners, but we were bold and relied solely on the crash pads. Luckily, nobody crashed…except into bed afterward.
