all hail!

Today at work, while sitting at my little desk by the cold window, I heard a noise that my ears have become unaccustomed to hearing. It took me a few moments until I correctly identified the sound of hail hitting the roof and the window.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Los Angeles experienced real weather today. HAIL!

Not only that, but it’s been raining all week, with rain expected through the weekend ~ and I mean real raindrops, not just mist.

And I’m not lying.

Yippers!

was fun, no pictures

The Holiday party was fun! I did not take any pictures, which, in my world, means it was a really, really good time.

Food = mmmmm.
Drinks = enough.

Friends mingling = happy making.

Yay for holiday parties!

Also, did you know that you can return unused items to grocery stores? Yep. Woooo! Thanks Trader Joe’s, BevMo, Ralph’s, Whole Foods & Costco! I will certainly shop with you in the future…

*8 shopping days ’til Christmas and no gift for my boyfriend. I’m sooo stumped! Last year I got him the perfect gift, so now I set a standard that I’m afraid I can’t match.*

Gift ideas are few this Christmas. I’d rather throw another party than go shopping.

party prep

Tonight I must turn this stuff…into a party.

party prep

Cooking and baking and chopping and skewering. Mixing and shaking and stirring and sipping. Oh yeah, and decorating. Whew.

I’m having a cocktail party for the Holidays on Saturday and I wish everyone who read this could come. Why d’ya have to live so far away?

Pictures will be posted. Have a happy holiday weekend. Wheeeeeeee!

home again, home again

shabuI got home yesterday, safe and sound, exhausted but thrilled. I only worked a little and then R took me to Shabu Shabu at Koji’s. I heart Shabu Shabu so much because it feels healthy and tastes delicious. There are vegetables galore and some yummy dipping sauces. Shabu Shabu means “swish swish”. You cook your own veggies and thinly sliced chicken in the boiling water at the table. Mmmm, good.

I bought us happy hour drinks to celebrate his new job (I’m so proud!) and he bought us dinner to celebrate my homecoming.

And then this morning I had a deep tissue massage with hot stone therapy. Ahhhh, yes. Now all I need is a tropical vacation!

Tonight = Erin’s wine and ice skating birthday party. I’m not sure these two things should go together, but we’ll find out! I will take some pictures…
