Here is Jack at 22 weeks old…

Jack turned 5 months old this week! He is a little chunk-a-monk, isn’t he?

Jack is exploring everything – he wants to touch, grab and hold everything in his path and once he gets what he wants into his grasp, he immediately puts it in his mouth…

The big news this week is that Jack now rolls over in both directions! He likes to roll from belly to back, but when he rolls from back to belly when he doesn’t want to, he sometimes gets stuck there and fusses out of frustration. While we don’t want him to be frustrated, it is kind of cute.

Here are some more photos from Jack’s 22nd week…

First, Jack still loves to grab for the iPhone. He was on my lap and I was trying to take his photo when all of a sudden his little fingers reached around and he snapped his own picture. No joke. We’ll call this Self Portrait #1…

Jack is now wearing 6 month size. It is fun to be dressing him in new outfits – I like his 6 month clothes a lot. Here he is rockin’ a hot day in a sleeveless pirate shirt that I found on sale and some plaid, hand-me-down shorts…

Jack is lucky to have received many awesome hand-me-down clothes from his second-cousins in NYC. Thank you, Matthew & Drew!

Jack always loves to hang out with his grandparents. All of them!

Some things I love about you at 5 months are:
–When you eat, nursing or from a bottle, you like to hold onto my finger.
–Your sly, little half-smile.
–The way you bury your face into my neck when you’re starting to get tired.
–You have noticed the cat and now watch him with wonderful curiosity.
–Your desire to be involved in everything we do.
–Sometimes when you nurse you take a pause to gaze up at me as if checking to see that I’m still there.
–How intently you listen and enjoy the pictures when we read you a bedtime story.

Here is Jack Lawrence at 21 weeks old…

We have been busy running around town to look at houses in every spare moment, so we didn’t get the photo project accomplished this week, but the photo above works well because it captured Jack at his 4-month well-baby check up. Remember, Jack goes to his well-baby visits three weeks late since he arrived into the world three weeks early. How cute does he look in his little gown?

Jack’s 4-month stats were:
Weight: 15 pounds (38th %)
Height: 24.41 inches (18th %)
Head: 17.32 inches (83rd %)

Luckily, the doctor said he was growing in proportion, he just has a big head and short legs. Since R couldn’t come to this appointment, I had to be brave this time and hold Jack steady during his shots. He cried loudly in protest.

This week we celebrated Father’s Day! Jack and I surprised R by taking him to Brunch at a rooftop restaurant he’d never heard of in downtown LA called Perch. Finding a place R doesn’t know about in LA is difficult since he grew up here. It was a very cool place, with a view of the city and a Jazz band and he loved it! Here is Jack celebrating with R…

We know Jack loves music, but he was fascinated by the live music. He especially loved watching the saxophone player, whom he watched intently before happily falling asleep…

Jack and I agree that R is the best Dad in all the land!

The final news from this week is that Jack went to meet with one of the top youth agencies in LA and they loved him. He is now represented and ready to audition, work permit and all. I can’t wait to see what baby auditions are like. It will be an adventure, I’m sure.

Here is Jack at 20 weeks old…

Jack is trying to roll…

He coos and grins all the time…

And he is holds his own bottle sometimes…

He must absolutely have a bath before bed or he won’t sleep as long during the night…

He is our happy baby as long as he’s not being dragged around town to look at houses, which, this week, he had to do a lot, poor peanut.

We think Jack’s expressive nature is hilarious and charming…

Here is Jack at 19 weeks old…

This week’s photo shoot finally captured our little goofball…

Jack’s personality continues to delight us! He is sweet, funny, curious, present, thoughtful, sensitive and patient. He is starting to really discover and play with his toys. He likes things to be fresh, new and interesting. He adores music and loves to play with his baby radio…

And when he plays hard, he naps hard…

Sometimes in the middle of lunch and on his Aunt Erin’s lap. (Sometimes being the operative word here, because napping is not always Jack’s strength no matter how much we encourage it).

Maybe he doesn’t nap because he has so much important baby work to do…

Jack is already intrigued by computers and iPhones when they’re around. He’s aching to be able to grab the iPhone and buy Apps.

Jack loves to ride in the Bjorn, especially facing out so he can charm everyone’s socks off with the joie de vivre he emanates. Here he is staying warm with Daddy on a recent foggy visit to Griffith Park Observatory…

More catching up on Jack’s growth and goings on!

Here is Jack Lawrence at 18 weeks old…

Look at that expression! We think Jack looks like he’s mad dogging someone in that photo and we think it’s hilarious because it couldn’t be farther from showing his true personality. There were some other cute photos from this week’s shoot, though, which show how much Jack is wiggling, playing and trying his very best to roll…

This week, Jack got a sweet new ride. His big boy stroller rocks all of our worlds…

And we get to fully enjoy beautiful LA days…

Jack is a very curious and social boy. He loves to go places and look at people. He remains such a patient little sweetheart as we spend a lot of time driving around the LA area looking at houses. We try our best to stop at interesting places, like a restaurant, so he can practice his people-watching…

Even though Jack’s sleep continues to be a challenge, with this face…
