It can come from anywhere ~ I simply have to keep my eyes open and my ears listening! I love being inspired by people I know (which happens often, because I know some pretty amazing people) and I love it when I can be inspired by random things…such as a song, or a fashion accessory, or someone’s expression.
There is inspiration everywhere, it’s finding a way to use it creatively that takes some work. I’m working on it right now.
And when I find a way to use it, I’ll invite you to come watch!
Al,
Wisdom and inspiration are often found in the least likely places and from the most unexpeted persons. You never know when your eyes will open. . . seeing new sunsets in distant lands, seeing that same old friendly face you have smiled at daily (but now looks familiarly different), at a dancing tumble weed in the Navajo desert, or even greeting a stranger in the mirror.
Your entry reminds me of my favorite William Carlos Williams poem. . .
The little sparrows
hop ingenuously
about the pavement
quarreling
with sharp voices
over those things
that interest them.
But we who are wiser
shut ourselves in
on either hand
and no one knows
whether we think good
or evil.
Meanwhile,
the old man who goes about
gathering dog-lime
walks in the gutter
without looking up
and his tread
is more majestic than
that of the Episcopal minister
approaching the pulpit
of a Sunday.
These things
astonish me beyond words.
