This coming Saturday I am going to be in a Runway show, modeling the new fall collection of a Los Angeles Hair Salon. Now, let me be clear. The new fall collection is their revamped salon, with brand new hair styling techniques, edgy cuts and funky color. Oh, yes. My hair, which has been consistantly blonde for about 5 years is getting a make-over. In 2004 I cut my hair short and it is now finally down to just below my shoulders. So, I told them they had to keep some length, but they could do…whatever they wanted with the color! (I get 2 free cuts and colors after the show, so it’s worth it)
On Sunday we had our catwalk practice and our fittings for the original, “deconstructed designs” (whatever that means). Mine is…interesting, to say the least. Then, I made my hair appointment for tomorrow at 1pm. I also took a moment to ask what color they were thinking and all I got was this: “I think she’s putting a lot of red chunks in your color…”
I’m actually stoked! Very excited and only a little nervous. After all, it’s only hair. It grows and it’s easy to fix if I hate it, but I have a feeling I might love it! I had red hair once, in college for a play, and I liked it very much.
If you are in the LA area, check out the event in person. I would love to see you there!
So, because I know most of you who read my blog won’t be able to make it, I’ll post my before and after pictures here tomorrow. Check back after 3pm PST…
Wish me luck!
I didn’t know you did any modeling, Ali…
I hope the hair is purple. Purple with red chunks = awesome.
