I was in Coffee Bean on Saturday morning and I saw this woman wearing some shoes I fell madly in love with. After staring at them for a long time I told her I loved her shoes and asked her what brand they were (not that I know anything about brands, but in LA, it’s a good guess to assume they’re something “well known”). She replied “Campbell?” And I asked where she got them and I swear I recall her saying “LM” or “L&M” or some other place with two letters. “BM?” Oh, wait…
She then said “But you should go online because their shoes are a little pricey and I bet you can get a better price online”.
I have been searching and searching the world wide web and I cannot find these shoes anywhere. I’ve typed in every descriptor I can think of for the mental image of these amazing shoes: campbell, heels, patent leather, straps, ankle, black.
And there is no store in LA called L&M or LM. And no, it’s not H&M.
And nothing. I am so disappointed!
What’s a poor shoe loving girl to do now?
Oh, I know – save my money…
Saving money is for the birds! I hope someone reading your blog knows the brand you’re talking about and can help out…perfect shoes are hard to find!
Could the line be Jeffrey Campbell Shoes?
And could they be these (just guessing from your adjectives):
(Sorry – your site doesn’t like URLs, it seems. Are they the “Maya” style pictured on the Nordstrom’s site?)
(I have mad google skills.)
Robert – thank you for trying to find them with your mad google skills. My friend Betsy also thought that the Maya shoes by Jeffrey Campbell were the ones, but, alas, those are not them. (Although they are nice too).
I DID however, find out the name of the store in LA. It is called LF. See? I was close. So, now I will have to go to LF and see if I can find them…
I was going to suggest Jeffrey Campbell, too, because my *most favorite pair of shoes are by him.
my vote was for jeffrey campbell too. he seems like he’d be up your ali. (omg, i couldn’t help it. sorry!) 🙂
oh yeah, and zappos and the like usually have plenty of jc’s.
