when it rains, it pours

raindrops

It’s been dry. Very dry. Dry for, like, over a year. And now suddenly, it’s raining. And it’s not just raining, it seems to be pouring, actually.

With the first raindrop you reach your face up toward the sky and lean into the water, letting it drip over your eyelash. With the next drop, you let it wash over your face. When the drops start falling quickly, they begin to wash over your body and seep into your skin. They nourish your spirit and allow you to grow and flourish. Then the sky opens, more rain thunders down, and you are suddenly drowning in pools of crystal, clear water that encourage you to swim away from the hot island where you’ve been stranded; where you’ve been hiding, secretly hoping not to be found. Swimming, you relax and the cool waves swirl around your body, carrying you into a blissful state of floating.

And I’m not talking about the weather…
